September 15, 2002 Travel Briefs Vacationing this fall: What's new Hotels: Sleep tight Because sweet dreams often elude road warriors, more savvy properties now provide nighttime pampering that goes way beyond placing chocolates on a pillow. With "Home Sweet Loews," a program Loews Hotels is test-marketing in Denver and Montreal, you can get comfy by requesting a terry pillow, a chenille throw, a night light, a neck roll, a sound machine, a face and body mask kit -- or even a putting green game to play until you're drowsy. At all Four Seasons hotels, you have a choice of foam, feather or orthopedic pillows. "Deep Sleep 101," the Four Seasons' program in Austin, Texas, features a CD of soothing music and a booklet on how to drift into a deep sleep. Westin hotels tuck their tired into the Heavenly Bed, a white bundle of pillows and a plump duvet atop a thickly padded mattress. Guests like the bed so much that Westin sells about four a day. -- Compiled by Candyce Stapen |
